Our Y Personal Fitness coaches are dedicated to helping you succeed with fitness. Par-Q

If you are over age 39 or have a medical condition, consult your doctor before beginning an exercise program. Filling out the Y Par-Q form will help us work with you and your doctor if necessary.


Active Older Adults

Looking for a fun group of people that enjoy getting out and having fun? Join the Active Older Adult group for trips to interesting places, food and celebration, and much more.

Strength training, stretching, aerobics, yoga, swimming and other physical activities are making an amazing difference in the ability of seniors to stay active and healthy. Y staff can help you develop a fitness program that will meet your special needs, whether it's a recumbant bike, a water aerobics class designed to help with arthritus, a yoga class to help with flexibility and balance, or a strength training routine to help you maintain function.


Group Fitness Classes

Try aerobics, pilates, yoga, or indoor cycling. All of the classes are free with your membership except a very few specialty classes like instructional dance. If you're just getting started use a smaller range of motion with your arms or legs, slow down as needed, and be patient with yourself as you learn. The important thing is to get moving!


Health Education

The Y offers occasional classes and seminars on health such as stress reduction, nutrition, and more. Y staff are also a source of information on healthy lifestyles, as is the health tips section of our website.


Personal Training

Free help from our staff is available as part of your membership if you have questions or need to adjust your workout. If you would like one-on-one help throughout your workout to help you with technique or motivation, sign up for Y Personal Training. For many people, Personal Training provides the boost they need to push through to the next level of fitness. Ask our Fitness staff for more information.
