Teens enjoy the gym to themselves to play pick up games.

Youth Center
The Downtown Family YMCA's Youth Center is free to all members. Our Youth Center is designed for children ages 5-17 and offers activities such as crafts, limited homework help, Wii, active play, organized games and more.

Youth Center Hours:
- Monday-Thursday: 3:30pm-8:00pm
- Friday: 3:30pm-6:45pm
- Saturday: 8:30am-12:15pm
- Morning hours will only be offered during D11 Spring Break, Summer Vacation and Christmas Break from 8:30am-1:30pm
The Youth Center will close ½ hour early if there are no children being cared for.
Youth Center is exclusively for the use of YMCA members only and is included with your membership.
Teen Nights
Join us the second Friday of the month from 6:30pm-9:30pm at the Downtown Youth Center.

Youth Center Information and Guidelines
Youth Center is exclusively for the use of YMCA members only. Your child be on a household membership or youth membership to be in the Youth Center.
You can expect the Youth Center Staff to:
- Provide a safe, quality supervised environment for your child.
- Provide age appropriate activities.
- Provide a positive social experience.
- Every staff is current with CPR/AED and First Aid certification and participates with ongoing trainings.
We expect Parents to:
- Present your valid YMCA membership card to the Youth Center staff so they can file the card.
- Sign children in using the sign-in sheet and to complete all areas of the form.
- Only children 11 years and older may sign themselves in and out.
- Remain in the building in the area you designated on the sign in sheet.
Please notify Youth Center if you are going to be in a different area than you have designated.
If this policy is not followed your membership is subject to suspension and/or termination.
Policies and Guidelines
- Children must be 5 years old to be in the Youth Center. Until the child’s 5th birthday, they must be signed into the Child Watch. There will be no exceptions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
- Only parents and grandparents may sign children into the Youth Center. Nannies, relatives and babysitters may not sign children into the Youth Center.
- Parents may give written permission for a child to sign themselves out of the Youth Center for other activities. Please see the Youth Center staff regarding this privilege. This must be done EACH time the child is signed-in.
- Teens: This is not a social gathering facility and you must also provide a valid YMCA membership card to the staff person.
- There is a 2 hour limit per day for children under age 11. If children are still in the Youth Center after 2 hours a parent will be paged. Teens are not limited to 2 hours.
- The YMCA will not tolerate the following: profanity, misuse of equipment, or inappropriate behavior. This can and will lead up to suspension and/or possible termination of your membership.
- The Wii will be available ONLY during scheduled times.
- Parents are welcome and encouraged to play games with your child(ren) anytime during the scheduled hours!
- Food of any kind will NOT be allowed within the Youth/Teen Center due to the safety precautions of food allergies. If your child must eat please utilitze the hallway tables to feed your child PRIOR to participation in the Youth/Teen Center program.
- COLORADO STATE LAW REQURES THAT THE PARENT MUST REMAIN INSIDE THE YMCA FACILITY WHILE HIS/HER CHILD IS IN THE YOUTH CENTER.
Emergency Procedures
- If an emergency should occur that requires the YMCA to evacuate, staff will escort all children outside through the Bijou exit doors and across to the First Presbyterian lobby where you may meet your child.
- In the event of an injury or accident involving your child, appropriate first aid measures will be taken immediately by staff and you will be paged to the Youth Center.
Bathroom Policy
- For safety, children that need to use the bathroom will be sent to the bathroom in the Child Watch only.
Late Pick Up
- Our staff members work full and often tiring shifts, and in many cases they must go home to take care of a family too. We ask that you respect our closing time.
- A late of fee of .50 cents per minute after the first 3 minutes beyond the 2 hour time limit, or closing time, will be imposed if your child is still in the Youth Center.
- Please note the 2 hour maximum time limit per day.
Illness and Disease
- DO NOT BRING A SICK CHILD TO THE YMCA YOUTH CENTER where infection may be spread to others.
- This includes unusual fatigue, coughing, sneezing, runny nose and eyes, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, and sore throat regardless of the cause.
- THE YOUTH CENTER STAFF RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE A CHILD THAT APPEARS ILL
Use of the Wii
The Wii will be available ONLY during open times. Parents are welcome and encouraged to play games with their child(ren) anytime during the scheduled hours! Inappropriate use of the Wii can and will result in a supspension of Wii use. Communication with the parents will occur before action is taken.
