From traditional camp activities to our challenge course, Camp Shady Brook offers a variety of recreational activities for all ages and abilities.

Traditional activities

Our traditional camp options are a great way to round up the end of an educational retreat or great break activities for in between meetings! However you choose to incorporate these activities, you are sure to have fun and learn new skills throughout your stay.

YMCA staff-led activities:

Challenge course

Looking to get the team together and integrate valuable problem solving and communication abilities? The Shady Brook challenge course is a great tool for diverse and exciting activities that really focus on the following skills:

  • Developing leadership

Low ropes course

Available to all ages, our diverse and exciting range of fixed low initiatives require participants to work as a team and communicate effectively to complete a task. Challenges include our 30-foot Climbing Wall, Whale Watch, Nitro Crossing, Giant Skis, Spider Web, the Wild and Woozy and more!

High ropes course

Challenge yourself on our high rope elements 20-30 feet in the air! The high ropes provide fun and challenging opportunities for leadership and building self-confidence. High elements include our Catwalk, 150-foot Zip Line, Postman's Walk, Giants Ladder and more! Our high ropes course is recommended for those 12 years of age and older.
